Say bonjour. Please. Everywhere and to everyone. The language is one of the most romantic parts of visiting. Learning simple phrases like “I’d like X please” will make more difference than you could imagine.
To me, La Seine is the most Parisian part of the city and my favourite place to exist.
I'll leave my Île de la Cité apartment in the morning, cross two short bridges to grab a flat white and a bag of croissants from Le Peloton. I’ll take my coffee and croissants back to La Seine and just spend the morning walking and sitting along the water.
Breaking away only to find lunch somewhere on Rue Vieille-du-Temple. A main street of Paris that happens to be home to some really great falafel and shopping.
From there I'll grab a chocolate cramique from Aux Merveilleux de Fred, a Northern France soft brioche loaf with chocolate chips and walk over to Place des Vosges for some afternoon sun.
Despite how bad it might be for my posture, I’ll work a little on my laptop and people watch until the sun sets. Potentially a g from Serpent à Plume. Then home to zone out and get ready for date night.
Next on the try list is Bar Sotto. But I think we're feeling something cosy so we'll head to our favourite, Candelaria. Ending the night with a Berthillon scoop.
